A simple-hearted but fair screen adaptation of the most famous Italian child novel - Carlo Collodi's "Pinocchio". Perhaps, too much buffoonery for the modern taste, but it's ancient Italian buffoonery, with fixed masks, props and rhythm, not a brute slapstick. There is no modern flirtings with adult public too; it's a straight film-for-children.
