1880. Victor, a little abandoned Parisian, is adopted by Louveau. This gruff but affectionate sailor lives on his barge, the "Belle Nivernaise", with his wife and children. At first reluctant, Mme Louveau finally agreed to welcome Victor and he was initiated into the trade of a sailor. Years pass, but Victor's life will experience many upheavals. Based in the book La Belle Nivernaise by Alphonse Daudet (1886).
